Pablo Scodeller

Pablo obtained his degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Mendoza, Argentina in 2005. The following year he moved to Buenos Aires to pursue a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Buenos Aires, in the field of electrochemistry and nanobiosensors, completed in 2011, and a postdoc in Materials Science studying silica nanoparticles for biomedical applications.
In 2013, he joined the lab of Dr. Erkki Ruoslahti's (2022 Lasker Prize Laureate) in La Jolla, USA, for a two-year postdoc in the field of tumor microenvironment. In 2015, Dr. Pablo Scodeller moved to the University of Tartu, Estonia, to pursue a postdoc in the laboratory of Dr. Tambet Teesalu, a pioneer in the field of tumor-penetrating peptides. In 2017, he received a Starting Grant from the Estonian Research Council and in 2018, was promoted to Associate Professor at the University of Tartu. In 2022 he obtained a Ramón y Cajal tenure track contract from the Spanish government and in 2025 he obtained tenure as a researcher of CSIC (Spain’s national research council). He has published 33 papers, a book chapter and is co-inventor on four granted and licensed patents on guide peptides, identified by in vivo phage display, for cancer, brain injury, and Alzheimer's disease, and a fifth pending patent on a peptide-drug conjugate for tumor macrophage reprogramming.
